This site is the sole responsibility of M. Denis Hill, QPP, who lived in and around Coupeville from 1998 to 2006. During that time Denis extensively photographed the Coupeville area. His work is available online and in Coupeville. It is for anyone considering or planning a visit to this historic waterfront town. What
This site has always been based on a simple ambition: to provide comprehensive information about the sights, activities and services of interest to visitors to central Whidbey. The sole qualification for inclusion is a 678 phone prefix or 98239 mailing address. Listings are free, but limited to Coupeville businesses. Why
In January of 1999, Stella Canfield of Art Gallery Stella hosted a meeting of Coupeville artists and merchants interested in raising the profile of the town. Denis, having arrived just a month earlier, realized that he could quickly fill a gap by creating a web site filled with information of interest to visitors.
See art based on this area at the first annual Coupeville Inspired Artists (CIA) Spring Show, a collaboration of two artists who lived for many years in Coupeville. Photographer M. Denis Hill, QPP and watercolor artist Stella Canfield will host a two-day show and sale at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, April 5-6, 2008. The artists will show works inspired by Whidbey, Maine, Ohio, Prague, Bulgaria and Istanbul.
